The iOS 17 beta is currently free to anyone that registered as a developer, rather than only being available through a $99 a year developer subscription. We do still recommend you proceed with caution when considering downloading the iOS 17 beta, however, as this is a very early version of the software. The wait for the newest Apple software announcement for iPhones – iOS 17 – is over! At WWDC 2023 we got a sneak peek at the upcoming iOS 17 which means iPhones are in for a fresh new makeover. Whether you've got the latest iPhone 14, iPhone 13 or even an iPhone 11 rest assured iOS 17 will upgrade your phone into basically a brand new one without having to spend any money. The iOS 17 beta was made available to members of Apple's $99/year Developer Program right after the keynote, but if you're not up for paying the annual fee to join the program a public beta will be available in July for members of Apple's free Beta Software that while this may not be the complete feature set we'll see once it arrives later this year, expect plenty of bugs. Otherwise, you might want to hold off until the final release that Apple says is scheduled for the end of the if you can't wait, here's how to download the initial beta of iOS 17 onto your to install the iOS 17 beta on your iPhoneTo download and install the public beta of iOS 17, you'll need to sign up to the Apple Developer program, go to the enrolment page. Sign in to your Apple ID – you'll need to have two-factor authentication activated – then input your bio and payment info to sign you're an official developer, go to the Apple Developer site on your iPhone, log into your Apple ID, and agree to any terms & conditions that appear. Then navigate to the Downloads you joined the program properly, developer beta downloads should appear for iOS 17. Go to Settings > General > Software Update. The iOS 17 beta should appear there automatically. Once it shows up, tap Install and it will start to a few moments and a couple of restarts, you'll have iOS 17 on your iPhone! But do keep in mind, that there will be slowdown and crashes at random moments for this early this beta is for developers, not only do you need to be signed up for the Apple Developer program, but you'll also need to you're not a developer, then wait for the public beta, which will arrive later. That's free to try, and you only need to sign up to the Apple Beta Software Program. While the public beta will likely be less buggy than the really early developer beta, it will still be an experimental release, so could still have plenty of issues you may want to avoid. I missed ya BlackBerry Messenger Enterprise or just BBMe may not be as customisable as applications like WhatsApp, but it certainly makes for a good experience. Simply the best instant messenger This is quite simply head and shoulders above other instant messengers. After the first year, you may need to pay for a subscription like WhatsApp originally did, but in my opinion, 40p per month paid as a six monthly £ payment is a small price to pay for a robust, secure, feature rich software with industry level encryption. When you’re on the way down it can often feel like events somehow transpire against you. It can almost feel like the world is against you, and that you just can’t catch a break. We can’t help but think that’s exactly what the people at BlackBerry are feeling like right now. As if a smartphone market share very much on the decline wasn’t bad enough for the company formerly known as RIM, the smartphone maker’s one potential ray of sunshine turned to stormy weather over the last few days as it managed to finally get its BBM app out onto the iPhone. Joy was expected. Joy didn’t come. The reason for that was two-fold. First, people who didn’t already have BBM accounts had to wait in line while BlackBerry got their ducks in a row. Installing the app left them with nothing to do bar enter an email address and wait. Not great, but not the end of the world either. And then things got really bad for BlackBerry – Apple updated iOS to partially breaking BBM in the process. Something that can be worked around with, but a pain in the neck for a lot of people. Fast forward the day or two since then and you arrive at the here and now, and BlackBerry has now had an update to its BBM app show up in the App Store which, apparently, fixes that iOS problem. Making the app actually work isn’t the only thing that is part of the BBM update though Contact categories List Sorting and filtering in BBM Groups Performance improvements Bug fixes Still, while updates are nice we can’t help but think BBM is already off to a bad start on iOS. That isn’t being reflected in the App Store charts though, where BBM is currently sitting pretty in the No. 1 spot after just a few days of being available for download.
